Maybelline Fit Me Review

The whole line of Maybelline's Fit Me products

So a while back my acne got very bad and I felt the need to go out and get some sort of "cover up" for the first time. I knew that I wanted a product that made my skin look natural and something that could give the the illusion of  me having "perfect" skin.
I came across the Maybelline Fit Me foundation in a magazine and decided to check out reviews on YouTube. Most of the videos I viewed were positive and on top of that, the foundation was less than $10 so I went for it! Luckily, they had my skin color in stock so I bought the concealer and the foundation.
My first impression of the product- I loved how lightweight it was. It didn't feel heavy and it went on very smooth! I still feel that way and I don't really have any major complaints about it.
The only downside I saw with this product is the fact that the foundation doesn't have a pump. I would prefer that it did have one because I feel like it could have lasted a lot longer than it has. I bought the foundation in February and now it's June and its like gone. Is that normal?
I tried doing what the instructions told me to in regards to me applying the foundation with my hands- it didnt work out. I ended up using my "Total Face" brush by E.L.F. to apply it and it helped me get the natural look that the advertisements promised.
Other than those things, I love this product! It gives me a flawless, natural look. My friends couldn't even tell that I had it on! This product gets an A from me! It totally met my expectations and I definitely recommend it to first time foundation and concealer buyers!

 To sum it up:
Pros: Lightweight, Smooth,Gives a flawless "perfect skin" look (with the right application method)
Cons: No pump
Overall Rate: A

Split Leg Bottoms

Made by the clothing brand Tripp NYC, split leg bottoms are bottoms that have a solid color and a contrasting color or funky print on opposite legs or sides. They're perfect for those days where you want to step outside of your fashion comfort zone and try something new!

Lucy Hale as "Aria" in Pretty Little Liars

The first time I saw a pair of split leg pants was on an episode of Pretty Little Liars where the character Aria wore a leopard and black pair! A while back I watched a video featured on the show's official website featuring the fashion stylist. She spoke about how she adds funky things to Aria's clothes to better fit her character, so when I saw the bottoms on Aria, I just thought they were leggings that she cut up and sewed together, but no! I found out through a fansite for the show that they were actually jeans designed to be that way! I was fascinated to say the least because I'd never seen anything like it! I began to really take interest in split leg bottoms when I saw the exact pair pictured below modeled in an issue of Seventeen magazine. After seeing them, I fell in love with the artistic nature of split leg bottoms! They aren't something that you would see an average person wearing and I adore that about them! Wearing them is a chance to stand out and be original!

Split leg jeans featured in Seventeen magazine

You can find them at stores like- Karma Loop, Hot Topic and Trash And Vaudevile. The price range is around $28- $80.

Here are the links for the split leg bottoms featured in this post(In order from left to right):

Don't Pressure Yourself, Love Yourself

"Forever alone!"  "Love won't ever find me." "I'm not pretty enough to have a boyfriend."  "Valentines Day = Alone day"  "I'll never have a boyfriend" etc.

Those seem to be the main words single girls say, especially on Valentines day. But why?

Couples- you see them everywhere. From your favorite celebrities to people you go to school with, your friends or just seeing random couples in your local area. Relationships are very glamorized and seem to give the people who are in them a sense of what love is. You want that. You want to feel loved, to feel special and wanted. You want someone to tell you that you're beautiful, you want the good morning text messages and you want the late night phone calls full of expressing your feelings toward one another. It's every girl's dream.

A lot of us think that having a boyfriend is a big deal. In school, whether you're in elementary middle or high, having a boyfriend is sort of like an upgrade. For some, it's one of the main golden tickets to popularity.  Why? Because being in a relationship is considered "cool".

What a lot of teens don't understand is that there is more to a relationship than the whole you ask someone out, put on the Facebook status "in a relationship" and then break up like 2 weeks later. Love isn't a joke but people sure do have a good time turning it into one! Being in a relationship takes a lot of effort, understanding and most of all, legit feelings.
What I mean by "legit feelings" is that you shouldn't just date a person because they're considered "hawt", "popular",  "the quarterback of the football team" or to upgrade your status. You shouldn't date just to have sex either (If you want to do that, take the relationship status off of it and slap on "Friends with Benefits").

Sometimes people only date because they want to feel loved, wanted, accepted, etc. If you think being in a relationship is going to help you "find" love, make you feel wanted or make you feel accepted, you aren't in the right state of mind. On top of that, you won't really have any successful relationships because you're relying on the other person to make you feel a certain way.

"To love oneself is the beginning to a life long romance."
 -Oscar Wilde

In order to feel love for another person and to be loved by another person, it's important that you love yourself first.

You have to love who you are (your personality, looks, fashion sense, etc) and know that you are perfect just the way you are.
People always say "nobody's perfect". Even Hannah Montana said it! I'm totally against that. Selena Gomez is right! Who says you're not perfect? Who says you're not worth it? Who says you're not pretty or beautiful? WHO SAYS?!  You can be all of that and THEN SOME! You need to believe that and don't let anyone stop you or tell you otherwise. The prettiest girls are not only the happiest but the most confident.
You don't need a guy to affirm to you that you're pretty or precious on a daily basis and you don't need a guy to define you!! Guys can "smell" insecurity. Jerks and abusers go for those kind of girls. Don't let yourself be a victim. Know who you are or who you want to be, OWN it and don't let anyone stop you.

Once you begin to see yourself in a different light, others will too! We are only a sum of our thoughts.
Example:
If you say to yourself every time you look in a mirror "I'm fat" or "I'm ugly" and believe that, then you're basically giving the world a green card to think and see the same. Who wants that?!
So how about this: Every time you look in the mirror, say something positive about yourself. Maybe there's a feature that you really like about yourself. Acknowledge that feature by stating "My eyes are really pretty" or "I'm having a really great hair day!" Completely and utterly ignore anything you don't like. Don't even look at it! As time goes on, eventually you'll see so many good things about yourself, you'll look in the mirror and be like "MMM! Who is that pretty girl in the mirror I see?!"  Your confidence will sky rocket and you'll be a happier person. Then guess what?! Other's will think the same. You'll notice yourself getting more compliments, you're head will be held a lot higher and you won't care about what people think of you anymore. You'll be so confident, you may even scare yourself a little bit haha!

"Like attracts like!"

Stop pressuring yourself!

With all of that being said about being confident and loving yourself for you, now I get on to my last topic, STOP PRESSURING YOURSELF!
Who cares if it's "cool" or "in" to have a boyfriend. So what?! That doesn't define you. When the time is right for the right person to come into your life for the moment, he will. I believe that anyone who is in your life, you've attracted them in some sort of way. So if your confidence is up, you look good, you're taking care of yourself, you're happy and feel good, the right person will come along and he'll be amazing! Whereas if you feel bad all the time and don't even care about how you look anymore, look down on yourself and see yourself as worthless, you won't attract such nice people. Remember, "Like attracts like!"

In conclusion, stop worrying about not having a valentine or boyfriend. On Valentines day, take the time to love yourself or even to spread love. Treat yourself to a nice spa day, hang with your girls, go donate to your local shelters, or do all 3! Valentines day for me, is about love. Who says love is defined by only being in a relationship? Who says? ;)

Ways To Get Victoria Secret Hair!

VS Angels always have perfect, big hair! Today, I'm going to let you in on a few secrets I learned about how to achieve it!

There are several ways to get the volume:

  • Blow drying your hair with your head down
  • Applying a root lifting product to your roots, then blow drying with a round brush
  • After blow drying your hair normally, apply big rollers to your hair while it's still hot. When you take them out, you have a nice ammount of volume.
  • Teasing your hair after styling
How To Achieve Different Kinds Of VS Curls
Big,Soft,Sexy Curls-Victoria Secret Inspired Hair Tutorial
For flowy, wavy curls like Adriana Lima above, you'll need a 2 inch curling iron to achieve the look. A while back, Blair (Juicystar07 on YouTube) did a video on it. Just click on the caption to watch it.

For more structured curls like the models below:
Things You'll Need:
*Heat Protectant
*1-1 1/2 Inch Curling Iron
(depending on how big you want your curls to be)
*Blow Dryer
*Hair Pins
*Hairspray
*Round Brush
(optional: Anti Frizz product)
Step 1: Start with clean, wet hair.(I would recommend that you use John Frieda's Frizz Ease Serum. You put it in your hair when it's wet. It not only gets rid of frizz but it gives your hair amazing shine! ) Apply your heat protectant and begin to blow dry your hair using a round brush. (For added volume, you could blow dry your hair with your head down).

Step 2: Section off your hair anyway that you would like. Begin to curl your hair in 1 inch sections with your 1 or 1 1/2 inch curling iron, away from your face. When you release the curl, take your finger, loosely wrap the bottom of the curl around it and begin to roll up until your hair begins to look like a barrel. When it begins to look like a barrel, take your finger out and just roll your hair up with your hand and pin it like a hair roller, away from your face (look at picture to the left). Do this with the rest of your hair.
Step 3: Once all of your hair has cooled down, release it from the pins and start to finger comb your hair. After finger combing it to your liking, hairspray it!

Now you're done!! :)

For messier curls like Alessandra Ambroiso:

 Things You'll Need:
*Heat Protectant
*Blow Dryer
*1 1/2Curling Iron
*1 1/2 Inch Rollers
*Hairspray

Step 1: Start off with clean hair. Apply a heat protectant and blow dry your hair with your head down for volume.
Step 2: You want to section off your hair in 3 sections: One in the middle like a mohawk and the other two on the sides of your "mohawk" section. Starting with your "mohawk" section,  begin to curl about 2 inch sections of hair away from your face with your 1 1/2 inch curling iron (try to mimic Alessandra in the photo to the right). After every section you curl, take your 1 1/2 inch rollers (I noticed VS uses velcro) and apply it to the section that you just curled. Do this for the rest of your hair. After your head is filled with rollers, wait for your hair to fully cool down.
Step 3: Once your hair is cool, release it from the rollers. Take your fingers and mess it up a bit then hairspray your hair!

Taking the rollers out

Now you're all done! :)

For pretty waves like Izabel Goulart:

Things You'll Need:
*Heat protectant
* 1 Inch Curling Iron
*Blow Dryer
*Hairspray

Step 1: Start off with clean hair! Apply a heat protectant and blow dry your hair with your head down for nice volume.
Chanel Iman
Step 2: Section your hair off any way that you want and begin to curl your hair with your 1 inch curling iron. Curl your hair by taking 1 inch sections of hair, opening the clamp of your curling iron and wrapping your hair around the barrel, then closing the clamp(look at the photo to the side).Be sure to hold the barrel upside down and to curl away from your face. (For a more tasseled look, you could do some curls toward your face and others away). After you are done with every section(meaning the sections you parted at the beginning), lightly hairspray it so that it doesn't fall while your doing your other sections of hair.
Step 3: Once you are done with curling all of your hair, finger comb and hairspray it.

That's it! :)

Getting VS Shine:
For VS Angel shine, they normally put a shine product in the model's hair. These are shine products available on the VS website:

Style Brilliant & Glossy Shine Mist
Smooth & Glossy Shine Serum

Great alternatives that make your hair nice and shiny are:
  • John Frieda's Frizz Ease Serum- I've spoken about this product in my last hair tutorial post and in the one above. As you can tell, I'm crazy about this product! It leaves your hair so shiny and so soft! The amount of shininess and softness that this product gives my hair, lasts a really long time!
  • John Frieda's Shine Spray- I've never really used this product before but I was looking at pictures of Adriana Lima before beginning to blog and I saw it on a stylist's table(she was prepping for a photo shoot) and I figured that's how the stylist made her hair nice and shiny for that particular photoshoot.
  • Garnier Frutis Shine Spray- I haven't tried this product yet but I am planning on it! I saw it in Seventeen Magazine when they were giving tips on how to achieve shiny hair.
~You can find more reviews on these products on YouTube, Ulta's website (excluding the VS products), other beauty blogs, etc.~

Another way to achieve shiny hair is just by taking good care of your hair. Be wise about the shampoos and conditioners you use, be gentle when you style it, etc. That's why I always tell you to apply a heat protectant to your hair before using any heat. Looking pretty is one thing but being and trying to stay healthy is another!

Halloween GNO Ideas

Hey everyone! Today, I'm bringing you ideas for the perfect Halloween GNO(Girls Night Out). Since Halloween is on a Monday, that means less fun due to everyone having to go to work or school the next morning, right? WRONG! You CAN have fun on a Monday night with your girls and in this blog post, I'll be giving you tips on how to. Lets roll!

First....

After school and homework, choose a place for you to get ready together at. Do each other's makeup and things like that while blasting your favorite songs!
For an adventure, you could get a guardian to drive you from neighborhood to neighborhood to go trick or treating in. It'll be fun to see what other neighborhoods are offering! If your local mall does trick or treating, go to the mall and have some fun there! You can get your shopping done together and get great treats while you're at it.
Another option is making a music video while trick or treating to an awesome song (Thriller anyone?). If you're in the dark while you're trick or treating, be sure to have a video camera that does great in dark lighting or be sure to carry a flashlight for lighting!

Then.....
After your trick or treating is done, choose a place to do the traditional trading of the candy. You could be creative with it by pretending to bid! One person puts a piece up for bid (or you could put out a table with candy everyone is willing to trade) and whoever has the most appealing piece of candy to trade for the candy being bid on, wins the candy! Get it? You could take turns doing that and even set the whole thing up with the stand and the hammer. Another option is having one main person (could be a parent) host the whole thing for you.

Lastly.....

If your parents allow it and you all go to the same school, what could be better than having a sleepover!? How awesome would it be to have spent the whole night having a blast with your bffs and then have more fun getting ready in the morning together for school? You would have a smile on your face for the whole day!

If you're unable to have a sleepover, after your trading or bidding of the candy, go home and get on a video chat (Skype, iChat, OoVoo and Yahoo Messenger are all great options) and chat until you have to go to bed. Or, if you're unable to do that, talk on the phone! Either way, find a way to discuss your favorite parts of the night and how much fun you had!

Additional Tips....
For safety reasons, its best that you:

  • Stick together at ALL times!
  • Keep your cell on you at all times as well. You never know when the 'rents are trying to contact you (you know how much trouble you get in for "ignoring" them) and if someone ventures off, you know how and where to find them.
  • Apply a bit of reflective tape on your costume so that cars can see you.

For more fun and keeping awesome memories:

  • Be sure to take lots of pictures! You're only young once, keep memories alive ;)
  • Take those pictures and with your friends, put them in a special scrap book. If you don't feel like doing that or just aren't into scrapbooking, upload your pics to your social network (Facebook, Friendster, Linked In, Google Plus, etc).
  • If you choose to do the video chat after the night, record it! Put on a dvd and keep it or make copies for all of your friends!
  • If you chose to do the music video, edit it and put it on a dvd. Make additional copies for your friends or keep it in a special spot of your own and present it the next time you guys get together!

That wraps up my tips for a great Halloween GNO! I hope you enjoyed it and I hope I helped you! Stay tuned in for more blog posts! Follow me on Twitter (Just click on "My Twitter"): My Twitter

School Hairstyles Inspired by Kim Kardashian, Elle Fanning, Lucy Hale and Bella Thorne!

I love challenging myself to do out of the box hairstyles all the time so if you're ever in the mood to do something different with your hair one morning, here are some ideas for you! In this blog post, I'm going to be giving you step by step instructions on how to do elegant hairstyles inspired by your fave celebs!

Kim Kardashian
Level: Medium
You're sure to turn heads with this hairstyle inspired by Kim K!
Things you'll need:
Heat Protectant
(I would recommend John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Serum)
Blow Dryer
1 or 1 1/2 inch curling iron
Bobby pins
Hair elastics that match your hair color
Hairspray
(I would recommend L'Oreal's Elnett Satin Hairspray)

Step 1: Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. *Optional: To tame frizz for the whole school day, I would recommend that you try John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Serum. You put it in your hair when it is wet. It prevents your hair from frizzing up all day and protects it from heat.
Step 2: Apply your heat protectant. If you took my advice on the John Frieda Serum, then this step is already done.
Step 3: Comb (not brush) your hair to free it from tangles and begin to blow dry it. You want to blow dry your hair with your head down for lots of volume and body. After your hair is nice and dry, blast it with the cool setting on your blow dryer so that your hair stays voluminous for a long time.
Step 4: Make sure that your curling iron is heated up. Open the clamp and wrap 1 inch sections around the barrel then close the clamp. Curl your hair away from your face for some sections and toward your face for others for a more tasseled look. Release your hair in the palm of your hand by holding your curling iron upside down to release it. Let is sit in your palm for about 2 or 3 seconds then let it go. You should now have a wave that looks like Kim's. Do this all over your head. Lightly hairspray your waves so that they don't fall out of place when you do the next step.
Step 5: This is the fun part! Take a section of hair on the top of your head as if you were about to make a pouf. In the picture, it looks like Kim has her hair loosely, french braided at the top with little sections hanging loose from  beneath braid going toward the side of her face. That is what you are going to do. Pull up your section of hair and on the right side toward the middle of it, take out 2 strands of hair(If you are confused, look at the picture to the side and above. Look closely at the two strands of hair that look like they have been pulled from under the braid). Clip those 2 strands of hair to the side so that your french braid doesn't pick them up.
Step 6: With the rest of your section, at the right corner of it, divide it into 3 sections and begin to loosely french braid your hair(Look at the photo above the one up top). Make the braid a bit tighter as you reach the quarter point of your section. Once you hit the quarter point of your braid(if your hair is long like Kim's, quarter point is like 1/4th of your section of hair;so like to the top of your cheekbone) stop braiding and gently tuck it behind a section of hair above the back of your ear and bobby pin it(look at picture above).
Step 7: On to the other braids in this hairstyle! Take a small section of hair toward the back of your head and make a basic braid. Once you hit the end of your braid, seal it with an elastic hair tie that matches your hair color. For the braid next to your french braid, take a small section of hair above your ear and make a basic braid. When you hit the end of that braid, tie an elastic hair tie that matches your hair color at the end of it. Now hairspray your hair to keep everything in place for the whole day!

And there you have it! This hairstyle make take a little bit of practice but once you get the hang of it, you'll want to wear it all the time because it is so pretty and it will become easier for you to do!

Elle Fanning
Level: Easy
This hairstyle is so easy and fun to do! Its really good for when your having a bad hair day!
Things You'll Need:
A brush
Elastic Hair Ties That Match Your Hair Color
Bobby Pins
A Comb
Hairspray
A Clip
(to hold your hair in place while you work on one side of your head)

Step 1: Make sure your hair is clean and conditioned as well as free of any products!
Step 2: Divide your hair down the middle of your head and clip up one side of your hair to keep it out of the way.
Step 3: Brush out your section of hair that you left out so that it is nice and smooth. Then begin to braid your hair. Once you hit the end of your braid, seal it with an elastic hair tie that matches your hair color. Do the same for the other side of your hair.
Step 4: Take a braid and wrap it around the top of your head then bobby pin it so that it stays in place. For the other side, do the same thing but make sure it overlaps the end of the first braid. Now take the end of your current braid and tuck it under the first braid so that your hairstyle ends up looking more like a halo (Look at both pictures of Elle's hair).
Step 5: Take little sections out on the sides for a messy look like Elle's. If you like for your hair to look neat, then you can skip this step.
Step 6: Lightly hairspray your hair so that everything stays in place!
There you go! Now your hair is ready for the day!

Lucy Hale
Level: Easy
You'll rock the hallways with this hairstyle inspired by Lucy Hale!
Things You'll Need:
Brush
1 inch Curling Iron
Bobby Pins
Heat Protectant
Hairspray

Step 1: You want to start off with wet hair so make sure your hair is clean, conditioned and free of any products!
Step 2: Apply a heat protectant. (Like I said in the Kim Kardashian portion of this post, I recommend the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Serum.)
Step 3: Begin to blow dry your hair with your head down for volume and body. After your hair is nice and dry, blast it with the cool setting on your blow dryer so that your hair stays voluminous for a long time.
Step 4: Curl your hair in 1 inch sections with preferably a 1 inch curling iron. Be sure to curl away from your face and make sure that when you release your hair from the barrel, that you are holding your curling iron upside down and releasing your hair in your palm! After you've done your whole head, gently finger comb through your curls and lightly hairspray it(I would recommend L'Oreal's Elnett Satin Hairspray).
Step 5: Take a section of hair around your crown area ,tease it, hairspray your teased section and gently brush down the top for a smooth surface (look at the pictures if confused).
Step 6: Part your hair slightly to the side (like almost a center part but move it over a bit) and take a section of hair above your ear on the right side. With your section of hair, gently twist it and bobby pin it to the side like Lucy's (look at the picture to the side). Cover your bobby pin with a section of hair in the back.
Step 7: On the left side of your part, make sure your hair falls in a swoop toward your face to resemble Lucy's hair. If you have a bigger forehead like me, make sure that your swoop covers your forehead instead of it being on the side of your face. Kind of like Beyone's hair in the picture to the left.
Now your hair is done! :)

Bella Thorne
Level: Easy
This hairstyle is perfect for those who sport bangs!
Things You'll Need:
1 inch Curling Iron
Bobby Pins
Hairspray
Brush
Heat Protectant

Step 1: Start off with wet, clean and conditioned hair that is free of any products.
Step 2: Apply your heat protectant and blow dry your bangs first. Then blow dry the rest of your hair with your head down for a voluminous finish. After your hair is nice and dry, blast it with the cool setting on your blow dryer so that your hair stays voluminous for a long time!
Step 3: Take your 1 inch curling iron and begin to curl your hair in 1 inch sections, away from your face. Release your hair from the barrell, holding the curling iron upside down. Hold your released hair in your palm for about 3-5 seconds then let go. Do this for your whole head excluding your bangs.
Step 4: Once your whole head is done, lightly hairspray your curls so that they stay in place.
Step 5: Above your bangs, make a center part. Toward the end of your eye brow, glide your finger into your hair creating a section ending toward the crown of your head. Take that section, slightly twist it and slightly bump it up then bobby pin it in place. (If confused, refer to the photo above.) Do this for both sides of your hair.
Step 6: Lightly hairspray your hair to keep everything in place!
Now you're done!

Top 5 Basic Back To School Clothing and Accessory Essentials

A Dependable, Durable, Basic Pair of Jeans
You need at least 2 pairs of basic jeans.Your jeans should be free of any rips, slashes, etc. Ideally, they should be dark wash because dark wash goes with pretty much anything.I'm not going to go into specifics as to what kind  you should get because everyone has their own taste in jeans. No matter what kind you prefer, make sure they are durable and comfortable. For me, I enjoy skinny jeans so I choose skinny jeans that are comfortable, not too tight and very durable.
Kourtney Kardash

A while ago, around my birthday, I got a pair of dark wash skinny jeans from Forever 21. They looked cute on me, felt nice around my waist and were only around $15! I thought, "This is great!" The only problem was, I noticed that in my thigh area, they were a little tight but I payed no attention to it because they were the cutest jeans in the store. Well, long story short I don't really wear those jeans anymore because when I washed them, they got tighter. At first, I was like "For the sake of fashion, I can go a day with pants that make me just a little uncomfortable. No biggy!" I ate my words a few weeks after that because the more I washed them, the tighter and tighter they got! I can't even put them on anymore! My legs hurt so bad within 2 seconds of putting them on.
The moral of the story is, no matter how cute the jeans are, make sure they are COMPLETELY comfortable when you try them on! If you ignore anything that's imperfect about them, you will surely regret it!
Make sure that you absolutely adore these trusty jeans so that any day you need a back up pair when you just don't know what to wear, you can always rely on them!

Neutral Colored Tank Tops and Camisoles
$4.80 at forever21! (Link)
$3.80 at forever21! (Link)

Black, white, nude and grey are the colors of tank tops and camisoles that you need for your school wardrobe. These colors go with anything and everything! With school season comes the winter season so having these colors on hand are great for layering anything!

Neutral Colored Undergarments
Especially if you're wearing white or anything light colored, nude and black bras and underwear are a big necessity. Sure cute bras with the zebra print or the pink leopard print are awesome but some shirts and sweaters are more sheer than others which means those totally awesome prints, aren't going to come in handy on certain occasions.

Cute Cardigans
If you're not the hoodie kind of gal, this is a really great thing to invest in. In school, no matter what condition it is outside, the air is ALWAYS blasting! In the fall, that is the last thing we want when it is beginning to get cold outside. Cardigans keep you looking stylish without an effort and really warm! A nice, durable and dependable, go-to cardigan is  definitely a must have for your back to school wardrobe.

Dependable Tote
Even if you carry a backpack to school everyday, carrying all those heavy books around can't be healthy for your body and it just isn't pleasant. You really need a durable, dependable tote to carry around with you during the day. This is HIGHLY recommended for those going into middle school this year because this is your first year experiencing walking long distances around school to reach your classes and carrying around a lot of books while doing so. You need a tote that is of medium to large size (and maybe larger depending on what kind of classes you have and the materials required for them) to hold EVERYTHING you need for your upcoming classes.
When I was in middle school I only had 3 times to go to my locker to get what I needed for my next classes. Once in the morning for my first 2 classes, one in the after noon before lunch for my selectives, a core class and gym and one when it was time for me to leave. During those times, for the certain classes I had, I had a lot of books to carry at one time so it was essential for me to have a medium to large tote to carry around.
You also have to make sure that your tote is not only durable but comfortable. I wouldn't recommend the kind of totes with the woven handles because those only leave marks, scars and sores on your shoulders.
One place that a lot of people in my grade carry are the totes from Abercrombie and Hollister Co.You want to look for totes that are very similar to those. The totes specifically from those stores are really pricey but they last a LONG time and are super durable! Abercromie nor Hollister are one of my favorite places to shop but as far as totes go, they are the place for me.
For gym classes and sports teams, I would recommend getting a separate tote for that. You don't want your everyday school tote to smell like gym or sweat! You want to get a tote that you can zip up to conceal the smells of that session and make sure its machine washable!

"Pull Out" Shoes
Let's say you've been wearing heels all day and your feet are ACHING and you feel like you can't go any further. This is the time for your "pull out" shoes to make an apparence. Whether they are basic flip flops, cute ballet flats or just a more comfortable maybe lower heel, these back up shoes are a must! Keep them in your locker or if your tote has enough room to fit them in, put them in there. Without these shoes, you only have one option if your feet get to the point where you need to sit all day and soak them and that is to go around bare footed. Not cool! Talk about all the germs your feet are taking in, not to mention the extensive amount of dirt that it leaves on your feet! No matter what, you must always have a pair of "Pull Out" shoes! Everyday, when you choose out your outfit, make sure you look at your other, more comfortable shoe options for that outfit to use for your "Pull Out" shoes!
If you don't want to go through the hassle of choosing out a pair everyday, go and get a pair of neutral shoes that you can wear with any outfit!
